You guys are like Butch and Sundance peering over the edge of a cliff to the boulder-filled rapids three hundred feet below thinking you better not jump because there's a chance that you might drown. The president has this disease and he's been lying about it, and guys are worried that the polling might make us look bad? It's the fall that's gonna kill you.
Chief Counsel Oliver Babish grills members of the staff, starting with a still-reeling CJ, over the the President's illness. Abbey apologizes to CJ for the deception, and CJ admits in the solitude of her office that she'd only ever asked if there was anything she needed to know so as to shield herself. A combative Josh brings pollster Joey Lucas into the fold, commissioning a poll to gauge public reaction to the President's illness, then sets his sights on saving the Justice Department's ailing prosecution of Big Tobacco. Still ignorant of the President's secret, Sam cheerfully greets news that the budget surplus estimate has been lowered -- for the political opportunities, not the reality of the lowered estimates. Meanwhile, Donna plays Chicken Little over news of a falling Chinese satellite.
