We try to get people to vote for us, and in the process, we hope the people force us to do good things.
The attempted rescue of the Americans held hostage in Colombia turns into an ambush, and President Bartlet's night just keeps getting worse. Abbey's still angry with him, and now he must decide whether to retaliate in South America and risk the possibility of starting a jungle war with, as Leo points out, no end in sight. Josh asks Sam's advice about Donna's odd behavior, but it's Joey Lucas herself who provides the surprising answer. The numbers are finally in, and a gun control initiative Josh fervently supports doesn't poll well in some key districts. And CJ must get out in front of a damaging old story involving a hero cop that the President recognized in his speech.
